Allen & Allen Hires Genoveva Border to Lead Spanish-Language Services, Boosting Accessibility for Virginia's Latino Community

Allen & Allen, a Virginia personal injury law firm, announced that Genoveva Border has joined the firm as Director of Spanish Services and Claims Consultant in its Richmond office. Border brings more than 14 years of experience serving Virginia's Latino community and will support the firm's efforts to improve accessibility for Spanish-speaking clients navigating personal injury claims and related legal matters.

In her new position, Border will oversee the continued development of the firm's Spanish-language services while also assisting clients with claims consulting and case support. Her addition reflects Allen & Allen's ongoing focus on improving communication and access to legal resources for individuals and families throughout Virginia. This matters because Virginia's growing Spanish-speaking population faces significant language barriers that can hinder access to justice after accidents or injuries. By strengthening its multilingual capacity, the firm addresses a critical need for culturally informed legal representation.

Border began her legal career working with Ecuador's Court of Appeals before pursuing advanced legal studies in the United Kingdom. She earned a Master's degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham and later completed a second law degree at The College of Law in Birmingham, England. After qualifying as an attorney in the U.K., she practiced corporate tax law before transitioning into personal injury law. Border relocated with her family to Virginia in 2011 and shifted her legal focus toward personal injury matters, where she said she found greater opportunities to work directly with individuals during difficult circumstances. Over the past decade, she has worked extensively with Spanish-speaking clients and communities across the state.

"In personal injury law, I can support my clients experiencing traumatic situations by taking care of the legal aspects of their cases so that they can focus on healing," Genoveva said. Her appointment signifies a strategic move to ensure that non-English speakers receive equal access to legal resources, which is particularly important in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse.

Allen & Allen representatives said Border's experience and multilingual background will help strengthen the firm's ability to communicate with clients who may face language barriers while pursuing injury claims. The firm said Border will work closely with attorneys, staff members, and clients to help ensure Spanish-speaking individuals receive clear explanations about the legal process, case developments, insurance matters, and available legal options.

Virginia's growing Spanish-speaking population has increased demand for legal services that prioritize language accessibility and culturally informed communication. Allen & Allen has continued expanding multilingual services to improve access to information and representation for individuals seeking assistance after serious injuries and accidents. This development is significant for the region's diverse communities, as it directly addresses disparities in legal access and helps level the playing field for Spanish-speaking residents who might otherwise struggle to navigate complex legal systems.

Founded in 1910, Allen & Allen maintains offices throughout Virginia and handles a broad range of personal injury cases. The firm's leaders said Border's addition aligns with its longstanding commitment to serving communities across the Commonwealth. For more information, visit Allen & Allen.
